live market
Current listings and active auction inventory. Useful for Scout and for understanding what is available now, but an asking price or current bid is not treated as a completed sale.
used equipment dealers
Dealer and refurbisher asking prices provide another market layer. GearKoala keeps dealer pricing separate because inspection, service, delivery and warranty can create a real premium.
local resale
Consumer and local resale inventory helps establish local asking-market context. Local and community markets can reveal inventory that never reaches major marketplaces. Closed, community, or login-gated sources are supported through user-submitted links, listing text, or screenshots unless GearKoala has an authorized collection method. These listings remain asking-market evidence unless a completed sale is independently verified.
new retail
Manufacturer and retailer prices help establish replacement cost, generation and product context. New retail is context — it does not magically make a used item worth a fixed percentage of MSRP.

Sold evidence, active bids, private asking prices, dealer inventory and new retail are labeled and weighted differently. If GearKoala does not have enough trustworthy evidence, it should say so instead of inventing a confident score.
